I’ve now completed a few triads as part of my skills practice. Considering how long we’ve known each other, I find it incredible what my fellow students share during the training. I am particularly humbled by the trust that everyone places in each other. Talking openly with people is liberating, knowing there is total trust and confidentiality.
Having come from a work environment where I spent many years being cautious about letting my guard down, this has been a refreshing change. I have often shared private information only to later find it being used against me somehow.
Since starting my degree, I have always been open and honest about my life experiences. I have no regrets and am not ashamed of anything I have done. It’s part of life, and I have learned to live for the moment rather than dwelling on the past. I’m also starting to stop worrying about the future and take each day as it comes.

This week, we examined ‘Dual Roles’ and ‘Contracting’. Both are important to consider when beginning a therapeutic relationship with a client. I found these two subjects useful and straightforward, as they are practical aspects of being a therapist.
